Bogor Mayor Asks Disdik Officials To Fix PPBD System

Bogor Mayor Bima Arya asked newly appointed Education Office officials to evaluate and fix the new student admission system (PPDB), especially regarding factual verification of registrant population data.

Bima Arya said that based on the Inspectorate's recommendation report regarding PPBD 2023 violations, concrete steps were needed to fix the system.

"I have held a report from the Inspectorate regarding the implementation of PPDB. This is quite thick, there are 30 pages and this is where we take steps to improve," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 31.

Bima Arya asked Disdik to form a special PPBD committee long before registration was carried out in order to avoid potential fraud by registrants.

The 2023 PPBD fraud in Bogor City became the talk of netizens because it was found that the registrant entrusted his son's identity to another family card (KK) to outsmart the distance of the house in the zoning system.

In addition, manipulating the identity data of children in other people's families is detrimental to prospective students from local residents.

Walkot Bogor has carried out a surprise inspection of the widely discussed schools, namely SMPN 1 and SMAN 1 Bogor City which are side by side and are classified as favorite schools in the area.

Based on the results of the performance of the Inspection, Bima Arya formed a special team to investigate PPBD fraud involving the Inspectorate, coordinating with the Ministry of Education and Culture, to evaluate the zoning system and equitable distribution of teachers.

"Disdik must also form this PPDB committee like last year. That's what was not done," he said.

Mayor Bima Arya rotated the principal and a number of officials from the Bogor City Education Office, as a form of learning and improvement to the problems in the regional PPDB.

The inauguration of structural officials and junior high school principals took place at the Bogor City Education Office, Monday, and eight school principals who were rotated, namely the head of SMPN 1, SMPN 3, SMPN 6, SMPN 8, SMPN 12, SMPN 16, SMPN 18, and SMPN 20.
