PAPUA - A member of the Papua Police's Narcotics Directorate arrested N (19) a Papua New Guinea citizen who brought nine kilograms of marijuana from his country. The arrests were made on Wednesday night in the Entrop area, South Jayapura District, Jayapura City, Papua. "N's arrest started with information given by residents," said Papua Police Narcotics Director Kombes Alfian in Jayapura, Antara, Friday, July 28. The report revealed that a PNG citizen was carrying marijuana using a four-wheeled vehicle from Pasir Dua to Entrop. After being investigated, he said, there were more than three people suspected of being PNG citizens who had eaten at a shop in the Entrok area so that members came down and tried to arrest them but two of them managed to escape. He said N was arrested along with evidence of 132 clear, medium-sized plastic packages, five sacks measuring 10 kg, one bale of marijuana wrapped in black plastic, and clear duct tape, as well as three clear plastics measuring 5 kg. " “ Suspect N and evidence were then secured at the Office of the Directorate of Drug Investigation of the Papua Police for legal proceedings and further investigation development," said he. He said the success of arresting drug abuse perpetrators was a serious effort by the Papuan Police in fighting drug trafficking in the area and was expected to provide a deterrent effect for drug criminals.
