Residents Of Cipinang Are Already Enthusiastic That Brawls Often OCCUR, Reconciled At The RW Office Is Not Effective

JAKARTA - Two groups of teenagers on Jalan Cipinang Besar Utara, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, were again involved in clashes due to mutual ridicule. The perpetrators who were equipped with sharp weapons were involved in attacking each other.

The brawl was recorded on amateur cameras. From the video footage, it can be seen that two groups of teenagers first gathered on Jalan Cipinang Besar Utara, Jatinegara.

Then they carried sharp machetes, sickles and saws to carry out attacks. Furthermore, this brawl between residents of different RWs broke out.

The two groups returned attacks using sharp weapons to firecrackers. Despite knowing of the brawl, residents did not dare to break up the actions of these teenagers. They are worried that they will be victims of being hit by sharp weapons.

From Gumgum's statement, one of the residents, this brawl was triggered by mutual ridicule on Instagram social media.

"Initially it stagnated from Instagram. Children with responsibilities (who fight), it's usually young blood. Overnight using bottles, there are many pills there. Not sharp weapons anymore, firecrackers of all kinds," Gumgum told reporters, Monday, July 24.

At the time of the incident, the witness was at the crime scene with the head of the local RW. However, he was helpless to separate the perpetrators of the brawl because they were outnumbered.

"How do you want to intervene, people are already in mass. The only three of me are RW and residents. There were no casualties. (the police) were not there, no one came (to the crime scene)," he said.

Gumgum hopes that there will be no more brawls between the two RWs in his area. He also hopes that the ranks of the Districts, Polsek and Koramil will bridge the declaration of peace between residents. The reason is, peace at the RW level will not run effectively.

"I just want to be peaceful, there is nothing to look for (from the brawl). The government must take part, sub-districts, police, TNI. Suggestions are immediately captured by the provocateur from here and there. The security check is there is no problem," he said.
