Attending The 25th Harlah Of PKB, Puan: PDIP-PKB From Close To Each Other Like Brother

SOLO- Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives and Chair of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP Puan Maharani attended the commemoration of the 25th Birthday of the National Awakening Party (PKB) which was held in Solo, Central Java. On that occasion, Puan spoke about the closeness of PDIP and PKB that had been established like brothers.

Arriving at Adi Soemarmo Airport, Solo, Puan was greeted by the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and regional heads throughout Solo Raya, Sunday, July 23. The 25th PKB Harlah was held at Manahan Stadium, Solo, which was attended by thousands of cadres and invited guests.

Puan herself came to commemorate the 25th Harlah of PKB representing PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri. He was accompanied by the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP for Foreign Affairs Ahmad Basarah.

The 25th PKB Harlah event was also attended by President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana Jokowi. In addition, there were also a number of elites from other political parties such as Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto, Golkar Chairman Airlangga Hartarto, PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan, and others.

While waiting for the event to start, Puan had a chance to chat with President Jokowi and the chairmen of political parties. When the event started, Puan sat on the podium in a row with President Jokowi and was flanked by the Chairman of PKB Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) and Prabowo.

In commemoration of the 25th Harlah of PKB, Puan appreciated the role of the party bearing the world's spherical symbol which together with other political parties and various elements of the nation always strive to work for the progress of the welfare of the Indonesian people.

Therefore, Puan invites all PKB cadres and cadres of other parties to present general elections based on the principles of democracy.

"Let's together present a fun, cheerful and happy election. For the future of the nation and state," said Puan.

The first woman to serve as Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives also invited cadres and sympathizers of all political parties to celebrate a democratic party in 2024 with the spirit of togetherness. Puan asked all political party cadres to maintain peace in the upcoming elections.

"Even though there will be different choices in the election, keep in mind that we all have one goal, namely for the sake of an advanced Indonesia. Peace must be prioritized," said the former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.

After the peak of the PKB 25th anniversary, Puan was then invited by Cak Imin to hold a press conference. He officially congratulated the 25th Harlah for PKB.

In front of Cak Imin, Puan expressed her hope that PKB could consistently become a political party that prioritizes the welfare of the people through its best cadres.

"Hopefully it will be a party that will become the people's representative in the upcoming elections. And we can jointly carry out democratic parties well, peacefully and usefully later for the homeland and nation," hoped Puan.

The chairman of the PDIP Election Winning Team then touched on the closeness of his party to PKB so far. Puan emphasized that PDIP and PKB often have the same political views.

"From the beginning, PDIP and PKB were like brothers, we always stay in touch, always match their vision and mission. It has been done since ancient times," said Bung Karno's grandson.

Cak Imin then replied to Puan's statement. He also agreed that PDIP and PKB have a special closeness in each election. He even conveyed the possibility of PKB fighting with PDIP again in the 2024 election.

"(PDIP and PKB) are not only close, but also close. If there is a possibility together, only destiny is able to answer it," said Cak Imin with a laugh.
