JAKARTA - Rumors circulated about the imminent meeting of the ASEAN LGBT community in Jakarta in the near future. Polda Metro Jaya stated that it had not yet accepted the application for the activity and would seek the truth of the information. Based on photos circulating on social media, the LGBT commitment meeting is planned to be held on 17-21 July 2023 in Jakarta. However, there is no detailed location. "There is no notification, I only hear the crowded on the flyer, but we are looking for nothing yet," said Director of Intel and Security (Dirintelkam) Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Hirbak Wahyu Setiawan to reporters quoted Wednesday, July 12. "Yes, we are looking for the truth or not," he continued. The results of the temporary investigation did not find any signs that the LGBT meeting would be held in Jakarta. This is because, from the search of places that have the potential to be used as the location of the event, none of them agrees that there will be such activities. "We also don't have a check at the hotel, all events at the hotel don't exist in other places either," said Hirbak.
