KENDARI - Polda Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) has again arrested a suspected illegal miner in Molawe District, North Konawe Regency.
Head of Sub-Directorate IV for Certain Crimes (Tipidter) of the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the Southeast Sulawesi Police, Kompol Ronald Arron Mramis, said the illegal mining activities were carried out in the PT Antam Mining Business License (IUP) area in the Mandodo Block or at the former PT Mughni IUP in the Mandiodo Block.
The illegal mining activity was found by a team conducting illegal mining patrols in the jurisdiction of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police, on Tuesday, May 30, at around 22.30 WITA.
"The illegal mining patrol, which was carried out on May 30, 2023 at around 22.30 WITA, took place in the IUP area of PT Antam or former PT Mughni in Mandiodo Village, Molawe District, with the discovery of one illegal mining with the initials JS,” said Ronald Arron Maramis in Kendari as reported by Antara, Wednesday, June 14.
Since the arrest of JS, investigators from Sub-Directorate IV of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Sultra have conducted an investigation and examined a number of witnesses and experts to handle the case.
After the investigation, investigators conducted a case title and named JS as a suspect on suspicion of illegal mining cases.
"On June 14, 2023, investigators named JS as a suspect," explained Ronald.
During the arrest of JS, said Ronald, his party also confiscated evidence in the form of two heavy equipment types of excavators and nickel ore (jih) from the illegal mining results.
Ronald appealed to all people in Bumi Anoa to immediately report to the police if they found illegal mining activities.
This is because his party is committed to continuing operations to take firm action against illegal miners in the jurisdiction of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police.
