Police Find 450 Cannabis Trees In Aceh Besar Mountains

BANDA ACEH - Banda Aceh Police destroyed as many as 450 tree trunks from 5,000 meters or 0.5 hectares of land in the mountainous area of Aceh Besar District, found based on the results of the development of the case being handled.

"We continue to develop, hopefully this result can reveal other cannabis fields," said Banda Aceh Police Chief Kombes Fahmi Irwan Ramli as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 22.

The cannabis field, which is estimated to be 0.5 hectares, is in the Kemukiman Lamteuba area, Seulimeum District, Aceh Besar District.

From such an area, 200 marijuana stalks were found which were 1-3 meters high, the other trunks as high as 10-30 cm (bit) reached about 250 sticks. Then, the destruction was carried out by pulling and burning the entire cannabis tree.

Kombes Fahmi explained that the marijuana field was found based on the results of the development of the arrest of the suspect with the initials A in the Lampulo area of Banda Aceh on May 18, 2023.

From the suspect found evidence of 150 packs of marijuana-type narcotics weighing 3 kg. After interrogation, the suspect admitted to obtaining the item by buying from a man with the initials H amounting to Rp1.5 million.

"Then, the suspect admitted that he got the marijuana from the suspect MY. After that, on May 20, 2023, he was in a house in the Lamteuba Dro area, Seulimeum District, Aceh Besar District," he said.

There, continued Fahmi, officers again found evidence stored on the ceiling of the house in the form of a rattan basket containing a black tarp containing dried marijuana weighing 90 grams, cannabis seeds weighing 1,250 grams and one scales.

Then, continued Fahmi, suspect MY admitted that the evidence of marijuana was obtained by planting its own land on empty land in the Gampong Pulo area, Kemukiman Lamteuba, Seulimum District, Aceh Besar District, covering an area of 0.5 hectares.

Based on the results of the suspect's statement, on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at around 20.30 WIB, at the foot of Tengku Lamcot Gampong Pulo Aceh Besar, the Banda Aceh Police Narcotics Resnarkoba personnel took MY suspect as a guide, until a field location was found.
