Ganjar Pranowo: North Sulawesi Religious Harmony Must Be An Example

TOMOHON - PDI-P presidential candidate, Ganjar Pranowo, gave the thumbs up for harmony between religious communities in North Sulawesi. Although different, inter-citizen relations in North Sulawesi remain well established.

This was conveyed by Ganjar during a gathering with a number of North Sulawesi religious leaders in Tomohon City Inspiration Hill, Thursday (18/5/2023). In front of the scholars, priests, the head of the synod and other religious leaders, Ganjar said he always felt cool when he visited North Sulawesi.

"I feel honored and honored to be present in the midst of all of you. North Sulawesi always appeals to me, because every time I meet the community, I always smile. It feels good when I visit here, because the people live in harmony and peace," said Ganjar.

The atmosphere of North Sulawesi, continued Ganjar Pranowo, is always fun. Today, he met many religious leaders, and told how the relationship between citizens and between religious believers was very well established.

"Of course this is happy for all of us. Interfaith are harmonious, between ethnicity is harmonious. If it is like this, our business is finished. We just focus on how to advance the nation," he said.

According to Ganjar, North Sulawesi is an example of the province of Pancasilais in Indonesia. Bhineka Tunggal Ika is really run well and becomes a community role model in everyday life.

"And today, I am happy to meet the people of North Sulawesi. Because, I met the nurses in person," he said.

Ganjar said, Indonesia must imitate the people of North Sulawesi who are used to differences. Because, in fact, different religions, different ethnicities according to Ganjar are sunnatullah. There are no North Sulawesi people who question the difference.

"This is what we have to example. If we can maintain it, then economic, social, political stories are much easier because we already have a solid foundation called unity," he said.

It is not wrong if North Sulawesi received the Harmony Award with the highest national religious harmony index from the Ministry of Religion. Two consecutive years, namely 2021 and 2022 North Sulawesi, got this achievement.

"This message of harmony and unity is what we must convey to all people in Indonesia. So that if in the future we want to build, then the foundation called our unity will be strong," he concluded.

Ganjar Pranowo met a number of religious leaders in North Sulawesi. Apart from Christians, Ganjar also met Muslim leaders and other religious leaders who were members of the North Sulawesi Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB).
