The two foreigners entered Indonesian territory with the aim of visiting their relatives in Malacca Regency. ACS foreigners visit Indonesia using a visit visa facility upon arrival (VKSK), while MDS uses a visit visa-free facility (BVK).
When they were about to leave Indonesia via the Mota'ain State Border Post (PLBN) in Belu Regency, Atambua Immigration officers immediately detained them on April 22 and April 23 respectively because they knew that the violation of the residence permit exceeded the specified time limit.
"They were then deported on Tuesday through PLBN Mota'ain to the Batugede Timor Leste Immigration Post," he said.
Halim said that during the examination process before being deported, the two foreigners had been given a warning or a stern warning so as not to repeat acts that violated the law in Indonesian territory for any reason.
"If similar violations are committed again, they will receive more severe sanctions than deportation," he said.
He added, with the deportation of the two foreigners, the total number of Timor Leste foreigners who were deported during the January-25 April 2023 period was 14 people.
