Firli Rarely Seen After Being Complained To The KPK Council, ICW: If It's Clean, Why Worry?

JAKARTA - Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) said KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri should not have to avoid the spotlight if he feels right in carrying out his duties. No need to be uncomfortable if he is honest at work.

This was conveyed by the Head of the Legal Division of ICW Lalola Easter in response to Firli, who has recently been invisible. On several occasions he avoided after being reported to the KPK Supervisory Board for allegedly violating ethics.

"For us, in principle, if it is clean, why is it uncomfortable. If for example he feels or considers, for example, he did not violate anything, then he should not act like that," Lalola told reporters, Tuesday afternoon, April 18.

Lalola assessed that the more Firli avoided the public spotlight, the worse the assessment of him. "That strengthens the indications," he said.

"That he either avoided or indeed there were things he did not want to be held accountable or asked for a response," continued this anti-corruption activist.

Furthermore, ICW hopes that the KPK Council or other institutions that receive reports of alleged ethical violations Firli Bahuri will immediately work. Do not let the report not be followed up on the grounds of protecting interests.

"If the Council has the same spirit, it has the same belief that at least the report must be continued on an equal basis, equivalent. If it has been accepted, it should be studied and followed up," he said.

Previously reported, Firli Bahuri was reported to the KPK Council by the former Director of Investigation of the KPK Brigadier General Endar Priantoro on three reports, namely related to his dismissal which allegedly violated ethics, alleged leaking of investigation documents, and allegations of coercion in the manufacture of documents related to cases that have not been exposed or filed cases.

In addition, Firli was also reported by former KPK leaders Abraham Samad, Bambang Widjojanto, and Saut Situmorang with the Civil Society Coalition. The report was made regarding the removal of Brigadier General Endar who was deemed to have violated ethics.

After being reported, the former Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK was never seen in the nose. When clarified by the KPK Council regarding the report of Brigadier General Endar, Firli avoided the media crew waiting at the ACLC KPK Building, Rasuna Said through the side door.

Next, Firli also did not attend the scheduled Indonesian Mosque Council event. His presence was replaced by the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, who stated that the leadership had collegial principles so that when one could not attend, the other could replace and there were problems.
