Jokowi And Czech PM Plant Kamper Seeds Beside The Merawan Tree Betted By The President Of Vietnam

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) together with the Prime Minister (PM) of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala planted camper tree seedlings (Dryobalanops Ianceolata) together in the back yard of the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Tuesday 18 April.

The activity was part of the official visit of the Czech PM. Thepping tree seeds planted by PM Fiala are on the right side of the seedlings of a tree planted by the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste Jose Ramos Horta some time ago.

Meanwhile, behind the seedlings of Merawan trees planted by the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

During the planting procession, President Jokowi was seen explaining the camper tree seedlings and the benefits of plants whose wood is known to be strong.

After planting tree seedlings, President Jokowi invited the Czech Prime Minister to tour the Bogor Botanical Gardens in a bucket.

President Jokowi drove a Busy car, while PM Fiala sat next to him, then the two of them toured the Bogor Botanical Gardens while talking for about 15 minutes.

After traveling around the Bogor Botanical Gardens, President Jokowi and PM Fiala held a bilateral meeting accompanied by their respective delegates before they were scheduled to hold a joint press statement in the Bogor Palace Lotus Room.

Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala arrived at the Bogor Palace at around 16.10 WIB and was greeted directly by President Jokowi and ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, such as Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Deputy Minister of Trade Jerry Sambuaga, and Indonesian Ambassador to the Czech Republic Kenssy D. Ekaningsih along with a number of Czech delegates.

PM Fiala's official visit was a follow-up to a bilateral meeting held with President Jokowi in Brussels, Belgium, on December 14, 2022.

At that time, the two heads of state discussed several issues of cooperation in the fields of economics, defense and strategic industries, as well as the Indo-Pacific region.

At that time, President Jokowi expressed the importance of accelerating the completion of the Indonesia-EU European Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU CEPA) and the realization of the Czech investment plan in Indonesia.

President Jokowi also appreciated the Czech participation in the 2022 Indo-Defense exhibition while conveying the importance of increasing defense and strategic industry cooperation through joint production, technology transfer, and manufacturing investment.

In addition, the President also invited Czech participation in the ASEAN Indo-Pacific Infrastructure Forum (AIPIF) which is planned to be held in Indonesia on September 6-7, 2023.
