West Java (Jabar) Governor Ridwan Kamil inaugurated the name change of Jalan Cikarang-Cibarusah in Bekasi Regency. Now the name of the road is Jalan KH. Raden Ma'mun Nawawi.

Ridwan Kamil said that before changing names, the road segment had been repaired according to provincial road specifications through a relatively long stage since 2019.

"The aspirations of the people in Bekasi Regency for the repair and widening of Jalan Cikarang-Cibarusah are indeed the most common," he said in Bekasi, Tuesday, April 11 afternoon.

He said the road repair work did not run smoothly according to the plan that had been determined due to the completion of land acquisition by the Bekasi Regency Government.

Until then, Ridwan Kamil instructed the Acting Regent of Bekasi Dani Ramdan to prioritize the land replacement budget so that expansion and repair projects can be realized in 2021.

"The money (road widening project) already exists, but it is not absorbed because it is constrained by 16 fields that must be released. Luckily Dani Ramdan was able to resolve this problem, appreciation for Mr. Dani," he said.

Meanwhile, Acting Bekasi Regent Dani Ramdan said the embedding of the name KH. Raden Mamun Nawawi is a form of effort so that the warrior figure can be submitted to the Ministry of Social Affairs as a national hero.

"There is widening of the road and changing its name, hopefully it will also be a driving force for KH Ma'mun Nawawi to be recognized as a national hero," he said.

The repair of KH R Ma'mun Nawawi Street, Cibarusah-Mekarmukti Section, has been carried out for 2.3 kilometers since 2021.

The work was financed by the West Java Provincial Government with a budget ceiling of Rp. 17 billion.
