Riau Governor Syamsuar no longer imposes the obligation of all cars and motorbikes of the Riau Provincial Government (Pemrov) to be parked behind his official residence during the 2023 Eid holiday.
However, Syamsuar emphasized that the Riau Provincial Government's State Civil Apparatus (ASN) is still prohibited from using official vehicles for Eid Al-Fitr 2023 homecoming purposes.
"If the Riau Provincial Government previously rested all official cars in the backyard of the Riau Governor's official residence, then in 2023 the Riau Provincial Government will not enforce the policy again," he said in Pekanbaru, Riau, Tuesday, April 4, as reported by Antara.
According to the Governor, many of the official vehicles parked in the backyard of his official residence were damaged because they were allowed to experience rain and heat for several days.
Therefore, the Governor instructed his staff to park official vehicles in their respective offices during collective leave and Eid al-Fitr 2023 holidays.
"It is better if the official car is parked at the offices of each regional apparatus organization and the car keys are handed over to the BPKAD. After collective leave, ASN must be disciplined to enter the office according to the stipulated work schedule so that routine tasks continue to run well and smoothly," said Syamsuar.

The governor said this was related to the joint decision of the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration and the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform regarding National Holidays in 2023 regarding Eid al-Fitr 1444 H which falls on April 22 and 23, 2023.
