JAKARTA - Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives has postponed a meeting with the management of the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) regarding the cancellation of Indonesia to host the U-20 World Cup.
The meeting had to be postponed because the General Chairperson of PSSI, Erick Thohir, could not attend because he was still abroad.
"We are resigning, it won't be ( today's meeting, ed). Erick Thohir can't attend, he's abroad anymore," said Chairman of Commission X Syaiful Huda to reporters, Tuesday, April 4.
Huda revealed that his party had not been able to confirm the rescheduling of the limited meeting to discuss the future of Indonesian football. However, he hopes that this meeting can be held soon.
"Not yet (time to change meetings, ed). Hopefully as soon as possible," said Huda.
It is known that Commission X DPR RI was supposed to hold a meeting with PSSI today, Tuesday, April 4. Commission X wants to ask for an explanation from PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir about a meeting with FIFA after the cancellation of Indonesia's status as the host of the U-20 World Cup.
Huda said that Commission X of the DPR wanted to get the latest update on what happened in Doha from the Chairman of PSSI. Including the achievements and steps that will be taken to anticipate sanctions from FIFA.
"I feel there will definitely be sanctions, light, heavy, or moderate. We want to get an update from Mr. Erick Thohir," said Syaiful Huda.
