JAKARTA - The most successful song and album in England during the first half of 2023 was revealed.

In the first position of the Official Charts Company of the 40 most successful songs in the last six months are Flowers, the main single of the eighth album Miley Cyrus.

The song gave Cyrus the title of her first 'British charts' in nearly a decade, and lasted 10 weeks at the top.

Flowers shifted 1.2 million British chart units overall since its release in January, according to data obtained by the Official Charts Company.

This single garnered more than 147 million streams and more than 80 thousand downloads, making it the most played and most downloaded song in the first half of 2023.

Additionally, Flowers claims the most successful week of any song this year - pushed 126,000 units of the charts during the second week in first place.

Cyrus also scored the UK's longest-serving first-place song by female artists, matching the 10-week achievement of Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You and Rihanna's Umbrella.

In second place the most successful song in 2023 at the Official Charts Company so far is Escapism by RAYE. The single featuring the 070 Shake gave the London singer her first England number one position in January.

RAYE told NME that the feat felt like a "last validation" as an independent artist. Escapism has since shifted a total of more than 850 thousand units of the graph.

The remaining top five consists of his Kill Bill SZA (3), Pink Pantess' Wild Boy's A (4), and Anti-Hero from Taylor Swift (5).
