DPR Member Dyah Roro Esti: Pertamina And Parliament Need To Mutual Cooperation To Find A Solution To The 3 Kilogram Elpiji Gas Problem

JAKARTA - Member of Commission VII DPR Dyah Roro Esti assessed that the government, PT Pertamina (Persero) and the DPR need to work together to find solutions to deal with the problem of the scarcity of 3 kg LPG in several areas.

"We have to work together, in this case the government has a task, Pertamina has a task, and we (DPR) also have a duty," he said in his statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Saturday, August 5.

According to him, referring to the 2023 State Budget, there is a budget allocation of IDR 117.85 trillion for 3 kilograms of LPG.

"We hope that what we have allocated in terms of the budget can be realized, right on target, and enjoyed by the community," he continued.

He encouraged the government and Pertamina to be able to evaluate the distribution system of 3 kg LPG gas in a number of areas.

"If the problem of the scarcity of 3 kg LPG is related to distribution, I encourage the government and Pertamina to map which areas experience a shortage of 3 kg LPG so that we can monitor and evaluate," he said.

In addition to the issue of the scarcity of 3 kg LPG gas, he also highlighted the issue of subsidies that were not on target. According to him, the 3 kg LPG distribution scheme and subsidized fuel need to be found the best solution.

"Both the 3 kg LPG subsidy and the fuel subsidy, in fact in the field, are still not on target. So, the distribution scheme must really be addressed because basically one commodity with two prices has been implemented, which has caused many problems in the field," said Roro.

Previously, the Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Tutuka Ariadji, said that the scarcity of 3 kg LPG was caused by several factors, one of which was the problem of distribution which was not optimal.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati appealed to the public not to make excessive purchases because Pertamina ensures that the supply and stock of 3 kg LPG is sufficient or safe.
