Jabodebek LRT Trial For The Public Postponed, Erick Thohir: There Is A Re-check

JAKARTA - The limited operational trial of the Jabodebek LRT for the general public has been postponed again. Initially, it was scheduled for July 27 to be postponed until July 29, but until now the trial for the public has not been reopened.

Responding to this, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir dismissed that this trial was postponed due to problems. Erick said that currently there is a re-capping of the use of railway system software.

"No (problem). Right, using Siemens (the software), his consultant from England, chatting with each other, it's okay, checking with each other," he said at the Ministry of SOEs, Jakarta, written Wednesday, August 2.

Furthermore, Erick said re-examination was a natural thing. This step is taken to ensure transparency of all parties involved in this project.

"The situation that Siemens has used is good, and it doesn't need to be questioned, it's everywhere using Siemens. But a consultant from England wants to check once again, that's okay, nothing has been attached," he said.

Erick said, checks were carried out by consultants from England. The goal is to ensure the safety of passengers.

"This is for the good of the community. Earlier there were those who dared to ride (the Jabodebek LRT operated) without a driver, there were also those who were nervous because there was no driver," he explained.

Reexamination Of The Minister Of Transportation's Request Software

Erick revealed that the Jabodebek LRT software re-examination was also a request from the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi.

"It's just back like yesterday from Mr. Budi my contact, 'we'll check again, yes', I agree. Because this is passenger safety," he said.

Although trials for the general public have experienced several delays, Erick hopes that the inauguration of this mode of transportation can be carried out this month.

"Wait for the process, what is certain is that between August and October we will do it so that this can work and I think it is ready," he said.
