JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has extended the long-distance train ticket booking period.

Prospective train passengers can now buy tickets starting from D-90 or three months before the day of departure.

Previously, ticket reservations were only made on D-30 before the day of departure.

KAI's VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus explained that the extension of the ticket booking period is an effort to improve KAI services by providing wider opportunities for the community in planning their journey by train.

"It is hoped that with the extension of the ticket booking period, the public's interest is getting higher using trains as a mode of safe, comfortable, and healthy transportation," said KAI VP Public Relations Joni Martinus to reporters, Thursday, June 8.

In addition, KAI also appealed to customers to pay attention to the train departure schedule listed on tickets or e-tickets. This is in line with the implementation of the Train Travel Graphics or GAPEKA 2023 which has been in effect since June 1, 2023.

Joni said KAI would continue to remind all customers to get off at the station according to what was stated on the ticket.

Because, if the customer is found to have deliberately dropped more than the station listed on the ticket, then the person concerned will be taken down at the nearest station which is likely far from road access.

"Conductors are equipped with a check seat passenger application so they can find out the identity of passengers, seats, and the connection of tickets purchased," he said.

For further information regarding train ticket bookings or other KAI matters, the public can contact KAI Contact Center by telephone in 121, WhatsApp 08111-2111-121, email [email protected], or KAI121 social media.
