Hooray, Farmers Of Gunungkidul Tobacco Harvest Area 68.5 Hectares
JAKARTA - Tobacco farmers in Subdistrict/Kenewon Purwosari, Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, tobacco harvest on an area of 68.5 hectares. The selling price of the tobacco reaches IDR 100,000 to IDR 300 thousand per kilogram.
One of the tobacco farmers Purwosari Mandoyo in Gunungkidul, said the selling price at the farmer level currently reaches Rp. 100,000 to Rp. 300 thousand depending on the tobacco variety.
The four tobacco varieties harvested include Sadana, Jowo, Paiton and Kedu.
"This marijuana is sold in local markets, collectors, and traders in the Bantul area," said Mandoyo, quoting Antara, Sunday, August 6.
He said the obstacles faced by tobacco farmers were generally watering infrastructure problems. In addition, farmers also complain about drying problems.
"We hope that the government will pay attention to the problem of tobacco drying," he said.
Mandoyo said tobacco farmers also market tobacco online to increase the selling value.
"Online markets are more aimed at markets outside the region," he said.
Head of the Agriculture and Food Service Gunungkidul Rismiyadi said the area of tobacco plants scattered in Kalurahan Giritirto and Giriasih reached 68.5 hectares. The area of this plant from year to year continues to decline.
"In 2021 there will be 75.7 hectares and in 2022 there will be 71.7 hectares," he said.
