NTT Police Ready To Secure AMMTC In Labuan Bajo
NTT Police Chief Inspector General Johanis Asadoma stated that his party is ready to secure the implementation of the 17th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime (AMMTC) in Labuan Bajo on August 19-23."For AMMTC security in Labuan Bajo, of course we have prepared security," he told ANTARA in Kupang, Monday, July 31.The shift of troops will certainly be carried out from the NTT Police, but not as much as during the security of the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo. Security is also not only from the NTT Police but other personnel such as the West Manggarai Police and also the nearest Polres."From the NTT Regional Police, only Brimob will be assigned for security before and during the AMMTC," added the two-star general.The AMMTC meeting will present ministers throughout ASEAN and the secretary general of ASEAN who discuss transnational crimesVarious kinds of transnational crimes include smuggling people, trafficking in persons, illegal fishing, illegal arms sales, narcotics trafficking, and various other transnational crime cases.The two-star general emphasized that not only meetings of ministers throughout ASEAN, but also meetings or dialogue partners/mitras between representatives from China, Korea and Japan. He hopes that various international meetings in Labuan Bajo can increase foreign tourist visits to Labuan Bajo.Therefore, people in Labuan Bajo are also expected to maintain security and order in the Labuan Bajo area and its surroundings so that the international standard meeting runs safely and smoothly.The meeting will be attended by ten ASEAN state ministers who handle transnational crimes, then three dialogue partner countries, namely China, Japan, and South Korea.
In addition, the envoys who attended were also observers from several countries, namely Timor Leste, Chairman of DGICM, Chief of Cambodia, Secretary General of ASEAN and other delegates.
