Troubled Brakes Section, Ford Recalls More Than 870 Thousand Ford F-150 Units
JAKARTA - Ford again had to carry out a recall program. This time, the affected product is Ford F-150's mainstay pickup, for the North American market.
In a report made by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Ford F-15 was found to be a damaged back-danger hardness cable bundle that could cause an abrupt electric parking brake.
Reported by CarBuzz, Sunday, July 30, assembled on the back doubles can cause the ribbon holding abrasion and circuit insulation to become aus. Thus, this will press the electric parking brake and can increase the possibility of a short circuit.
Of course this is a concern, especially in terms of safety. Parking brakes that are accidentally active can cause accidents while traveling. So far, 19 of the 299 case reports have been recorded which have resulted in the parking brake being active on its own.
Nevertheless, Ford noted that there were no accidents or injuries caused by the problem. This is also helped by parking brake warnings or messages on instrument clusters as an initial notification.
Since February 2023, Ford together with the Critical Concern Review Group (CCRG) have opened an investigation with a total of 870,701 identified vehicles for the 2021 to 2023 models, with the affected models being January 8, 2020 to February 25, 2023.
The company with the blue oval logo will notify affected vehicle owners by instructing consumers to take their cars to the nearest Ford or Lincoln dealers.
Ford will notify dealers on September 11, while the company will inform vehicle owners from September 11 - 15.
Technicians will solve the problem by replacing damaged rear gardance hardness cables with new ones, depending on the condition. These fixes are free of charge or free.

This is the umpteenth recall Ford has experienced. With frequent problems, this makes Ford's car quality questionable. Although previously, Ford CEO Jim Farley has promised to improve the quality of his vehicle.
But in fact, Ford contributed the most in terms of the US recall unit during the first half of 2023 in the US, followed by Stellantis with a model that is often affected, namely Jeep Grand Cherokee.
