South Sumatra Police Arrest Robbers Of Salaries Of Palm Oil Employees Rp591.4 Million
PALEMBANG - The South Sumatra Police Team arrested a member of a gang of robbery of salaries from employees of a private plantation company worth Rp591.4 million.
Kasudbit Jatanras Ditreskrimum Polda Sumsel Kompol Agus Prihadinika said members of Unit 4 Sub-Directorate III Jatanras after receiving information that the DPO or suspect on behalf of Jeffri Andi (34) was at the Jakabaring Sport Roundabout immediately made an arrest.
"The perpetrator and the evidence were immediately taken to the Jatanras Sub-Directorate III office of the South Sumatra Police Ditreskrimum for further examination and processing, and the perpetrator confirmed that he had stolen the company's employee's salary," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 28.
The evidence that was secured was in the form of a blue Seiko brand watch which was the result of the perpetrator's crime.
With the arrest of suspect Jeffry, the police have arrested four perpetrators of the robbers.
The three suspects who had already been arrested were Erwin alias Raden, Husen and Achmad Mulyadi, while another person with the initials FM is still being chased by the police.
Previously, the arrest of the suspect was the result of an investigation into the reporting of an employee of PT Mitra Ogan with the initials JS and supported by evidence in the form of CCTV footage.
JS told the police he was the victim of a robbery on Monday, September 26, 2022, at around 14.15 WIB. The robbery occurred when JS was about to refuel his company's operational minibus car with police number BG-1991-LF at the Lubuk Batang Gas Station on Jalan Lintas Baturaja-Prabumulih, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, South Sumatra.

"The bag containing the money was taken away by two motorbike riders who opened the left door behind the car. It happened right when JS got out of the car," he said.
The two motorbike riders turned out to be members of a gang of robbers who were commanded by the suspect Erwin.
In the action, Erwin drove a Suzuki Escudo to follow JS's vehicle since he took money at Bank Mandiri in the local area. Then the robbery was carried out upon JS arrived at the gas station.
"This was revealed based on the examination of the footage of a number of CCTVs, one of which was at the gas station and the suspect Erwin's statement to investigators," he said.
During the arrest, the police also confiscated a unit of a red Suzuki Escudo car number BG-1427-AT and a blue cell phone belonging to the suspect which was the result of a crime.
For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with a weight that carries a maximum sentence of seven years in prison.
