Ditopang Sektor Bisnis, Penjualan Listrik PLN Semester I Capai 137,12 TWh
PT PLN (Persero) announced that the realization of electricity sales in the first semester of this year was recorded at 137.12 Terawatt hour (TWh). This sales was supported by the business sector with a growth realization of up to 13.07 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo explained that one of the contributors to the growth of electricity sales in the first semester of this year is the business sector.
According to Darmawan, the development of the digital world in Indonesia has driven the growth of electricity consumption, especially in the data center sector. The tourism sector is also one of the sectors that is growing as reflected in the growth of consumption in the hotel and mall sectors.
"The company has succeeded in increasing electricity sales thanks to various flagship programs and products that are quite successful in the field. So, with this good trend, we are optimistic that by the end of the year PLN's electricity sales can exceed the RKAP (Business Plan and Company Budget)," said Darmawan, Tuesday, July 25.
He continued, various PLN mainstay products such as Brightening Building the Country, Illuminating Ramadhan and Promo Harbelnas have proven to be able to trigger an increase in electricity sales for customers in the business and household sectors. So that PLN's electricity sales for the business sector reached 25.481 TWh, an increase of 13.07 percent year on year (YoY) from June 2022.
"The increase in electricity consumption for the business sector is good news for all of us, not just for PLN. Because this means that the economy of our society continues to grow," he added.

In addition to the business sector, electricity sales for the household sector until June 2023 reached 58.69 TWh, an increase of 3.2 percent yoy in the previous year. Economic recovery and increased community activity are one of the drivers of growth in electricity consumption in the household sector.
"Currently, the direction of electrifying lifestyle is growing and well adapted by the community. The sophistication of technology encourages people to consume greater electricity today," added Darmawan.
He added that PLN has also mapped potentials and prepared strategies to continue pushing sales from July to December 2023.
"We will continue to look for new market niches to increase sales and expand reach to customers. PLN wants this electricity to be a catalyst for economic growth and social welfare," concluded Darmawan.
