JAKARTA - The Jakarta Bandung High Speed Train (KCJB) became the first high-speed train in Southeast Asia, its presence will be a world concern where this is the right stage to show Indonesian culture. Therefore, each station applies Indonesian motifs and shapes.
General Manager of KCIC Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa explained that the use of Indonesian cultural motives and elements is to emphasize the identity of Indonesian culture.
In addition, said Eva, this motive and element of Indonesian culture will provide unique privileges and experiences for every Fast Train passenger. Because, this motif and shape represent the area where the Fast Train station is located.
This motive is a symbol that the first high-speed train in Southeast Asia is present and operates in Indonesia. Indonesia's culture will become a legacy that will continue to be remembered by the public in fast train services as a transportation of the nation's pride," Eva said in an official statement, Friday, July 21.
For example, continued Eva, at Halim High Speed Train Station there are Betawi batik motifs on the station wall. The beauty of this motif is poured on a very large stainless-steel right in the middle of the waiting room for Halim Fast Train Station on the 2nd floor.
Furthermore, Eva said the Betawi batik motif was made using the laser cutting method on brown stainless-steel as an ornament for the Fast Train waiting room.
Betawi batik on stainless-steel also shows a combination of modern technology and cultural elements, where the stainless material symbolizes modernity," he said.
Then, the Karawang Fast Train Station has a rice and megawat batik motif as a landmark because Karawang is known as a rice barn city. The Mega batik ornament is cloudy on the station wall accompanied by an interior which is a combination of natural elements such as wood, stone, and bamboo with modern accents.
It is different with the Padalarang High Speed Train Station. The shape of the LOuvre streamline on the building's fasad is displayed in the station building architecture to show the principle of moving fast carried by the Fast Train.
"The building form of the modern, futuristic, and dynamic Padalarang Fast Train Station is combined with local elements, namely the Colonial Art Deco element which aims to create harmony between the Padalarang KAI Station and the Padalarang Fast Train Station," he explained.
