Toyota Fortuner Hybrid Design Leaks, Planned To Debut In 2024

JAKARTA - After much discussion about Alphard's arrival with a hybrid system, this time a leaked image of the Toyota Fortuner Hybrid SUV appeared and was ready to greet the Indian market.

The design image of the Toyota Fortuner Hybrid is already circulating on the timeline, featuring its exterior display. Although the design is not much different from the latest Fortuner model, Toyota seems to be discriminating it by adding a blue emblem or hybrid badge on the back.

Reporting from Cartoq, Tuesday, July 18, Toyota Fortuner Hybrid features the same size as the current model. However, there is an update on the design of the lights that seem more focused and reduces the fierce impression of this SUV.

While there may only be minor changes to the outside, it is possible that the interior will also get some adjustments to meet customer needs.

Currently, Toyota provides some of its hybrid technologies for some of its models, including the Mild-Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV), which may be present in the Hybrid Toyota Fortuner.

The plan is that the 48V battery with an electric motor generator will be combined with a 2.8 liter 4-cylinder engine taken from the previous generation of Fortuner.

Toyota has previously tested this machine configuration on the recently tested MHEV Toyota Hilux at the Kenyan WRC event. The use of this configuration is expected to increase fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and improve driving performance while reducing noise and vibration in cars.

Although the release date has not been officially disclosed, it is estimated that Toyota Fortuner Hybrid will be present in the Indian market as a large-dimensional SUV by 2024.

Furthermore, in 2026, Toyota also plans to introduce a powertrain for the next generation of electric cars that are more environmentally friendly with an impressive range of up to 1,000 km.
