28 Burnt Houses Burnt In Palembang, Temporary Allegations Due To Set Top Box TV
SOUTH SUMATRA - Police are investigating the cause of the charred 28 housing units in densely populated settlements of Lorong Unglen, Sido Ing Lautan Gandus, Palembang, South Sumatra (Sumsel). It is suspected that the fire was caused by residents' set top box (STP).
"According to the witness, the trigger is suspected to be a STP television tool (TV) on fire and there are also those who heard about the stove explosion, but we cannot confirm this. The investigation is still ongoing," said Gandus Sector Police Chief AKP WD Bernard, to reporters in Palembang, South Sumatra, Wednesday, July 19, confiscated by Antara.
The police chief explained that this fire was reported to have occurred on Wednesday, July 19 at around 10:00 WIB.
The fire is thought to have originated from a rented house inhabited by a local resident with the initials F.
The strong winds and positions between houses that collided with each other caused the fire to quickly spread until it scorched a total of 28 units of residents' houses.
The houses that burned each consisted of nine wooden materials and 16 rented houses or semi-permanent materials.
The fire was only successfully extinguished about an hour after the incident was reported.

The blackout was carried out after at least 12 units of fire engines and water and air police vessels were deployed to the scene to conduct the watering.
"There were no casualties due to this fire incident and material losses are still in the data," he said.
However, based on data from Gandus District on the incident, 48 families lost their homes.
The victims of the fire temporarily fled to relatives' homes or to several posts at the scene which was founded by the Palembang City Government with residents and the private sector.
Currently, the police are still on standby at the scene accompanying residents affected by the fire.
