Run Over By Heavy Equipment, Cigarettes To Illegal Alcohol Of IDR 839 Million Destroyed By Dumai Customs
DUMAI - Dumai Customs Office, Riau, destroyed illegal goods in the form of cigarettes, beverages, used clothes, food and beverages, household appliances and damaged boats totaling around Rp. 839 million by burning and crossing with heavy equipment.
The Daily Executive of the Head of BC Dumai Tomy Hutomo said that this destruction was the result of prosecution and enforcement during 2022 to January 2023, which was carried out by Customs and Excise officers with 86 evidence of prosecution (SBP).
He said the destroyed goods consisted of 236,560 cigarettes of various types and brands estimated to be worth Rp. 182 million, alcoholic beverages of various brands and types as much as 232.45 liters with an estimated value of Rp. 419 million.
Then, used clothes and used shoes are estimated at Rp197 million, food, beverages and other household appliances worth Rp40 million with a total state loss of Rp3,726 million, a ship with a heavily damaged condition of Rp4 million and other goods estimated at Rp2.1 million.
"We urge the public to comply with regulations and actively report any violations of customs and excise," said Tomy as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 18.

From this action, Dumai Customs and Excise can only continue the legal process by increasing the status of the investigation of illegal timber export cases and determining one suspect who has now been transferred to the prosecutor's office.
"One illegal timber export case has now entered the investigation stage and the suspect has been entrusted to the prosecutor's office for further legal proceedings," said Tomy.
The destruction of these goods aims to protect the public from prohibited or prohibited goods and secure state revenue through this law enforcement, after obtaining approval from the Dumai City State Property and Auction Service Office (KPKNL).
