He explained that the challenges currently being faced in continuing the development of PSN in Central Java are abrasion on the North Coast (Pantura), annual tidal floods, upstream floods.

The Central Java Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that the tidal height was almost 200 cm.

"Therefore, PSN is important, namely the Semarang-Demak Toll Road which functions as an embankment on the beach," said Airlangga.

Apart from being a embankment, he continued, the Semarang-Demak Toll Road will be used as a model for development along the Pantura road.

Still said Airlangga, the Ministry of National Development Planning of the Republic of Indonesia/National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) has conducted a Giant Sea Wall study.

"Maybe we can build a dam. This is a project going forward but now we are finishing the Semarang-Demak project," added Airlangga.

In addition to discussing PSN, Airlangga explained that the meeting also discussed the construction of the Kendal Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and the Batang Area.

"Earlier in the meeting we were asked to visit the field with the Governor (Central Java). Maybe next week," explained Airlangga.

Present on the same occasion, the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, revealed that several PSNs had not been completed and some PSNs needed to accelerate development such as SEZs.

"Earlier, the Coordinating Minister said that there are 2 industrial areas that are now growing quite rapidly, namely the Kendal Industrial area still needs seaports, so the Ministry of Transportation will immediately review it so that the seaports can be completed immediately," said Ganjar.

Ganjar said that usually the regions get two tasks related to PSN, namely licensing and execution.

Meanwhile, there are several PSNs whose construction has not yet been completed, namely toll roads and dams.

"Several dams that have not been completed on going and there is one that connects West Java to Central Java in Cilacap and this will be reviewed later regarding the completion target," concluded Ganjar.
