Floods In Kuansing Surut, BNPB Riau Reminds 167 Residents Affected By Beware Of Potential Heavy Rain
A total of 164 residents were affected by flooding due to the overflow of the Tangean River, Kuantan Singingi Regency (Kuansing), Riau Province. Floods hit after heavy rains occurred on Monday, June 26 in the early hours of the morning.
Acting Head of the Center for Disaster Data, Information and Communication of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Abdul Muhari said the affected residents came from 41 families (KK). "Based on reports from the BNPB Center for Control and Operations (Pusdalops), the floods that hit Rambahan Village, Logas District, Land had an impact on 41 housing units, three worship facilities and two public facilities with water levels ranging from 110 cm," he said in a written statement, Tuesday, June 27, which was confiscated by Antara. According to him, currently the flood conditions in Kuansing have gradually recededed.
"As an effort in handling the emergency, BPBD (Regional Disaster Management Agency) has coordinated with the local government to collect data, handle and evacuate," he said.

Responding to the potential threat of high rain that is still happening, Abdul said BPBD had informed BPBD of early warnings of extreme weather to BPBD regencies and cities in Riau.
BPBD also appealed to the public to be aware of the threat of hydrometeorological disasters such as landslides and strong winds.
"BNPB appeals to the public and local governments to be able to increase awareness of the rainfall that is predicted to still flush the scene," said Abdul.
