Banjarmasin Corruption Court Judge Frees 4 Corruption Defendants At Kodja Bahari

The panel of judges at the Banjarmasin Corruption Court, South Kalimantan, acquitted four defendants of corruption in the shipyard construction project at PT Dok & Peralangan Kodja Bahari.

"The defendant was acquitted because he was not legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption as in the primary indictment and subsidiary charges," said Chairman of the Panel of Judges at the Corruption Court at the Banjarmasin District Court I GedeYulirtha in a decision reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 27.

The four defendants were respectively former Director of PT Dok and Shipship of Kodja Bahari (Persero) Shipyard BanjarmasinAlbertus Pattaru and Suharyono, as well as M. Saleh and Lidyannor as contractors.

The panel of judges rejected all the indictments of the Public Prosecutor and asked to restore the rights of the defendant in his abilities, position, dignity, and dignity.

The judge gave the defendant and the public prosecutor seven days to think about it before deciding the legal steps taken on the decision.

Meanwhile, Albertus said he was happy and stated from the start that he believed he was innocent as charged by the prosecutor.

Previously, the four defendants were charged by the public prosecutor (JPU) with a sentence of nine years in prison and paid a fine of Rp. 500 million, a subsidiary of six months in prison.

Especially for the defendant M. Saleh, he was also required to pay a replacement fee of Rp. 5.7 billion, which if he could not pay, he was replaced with a prison sentence of four years and six months in prison.

The case of alleged corruption in the implementation of the work on the construction of a dock belonging to PT Dok & Peralangan Kodja Bahari as a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) engaged in the construction of a new ship, maintenance and repair of ships and non-ships occurred in the 2018 fiscal year with a ceiling value of around Rp. 18 billion which was investigated by the South Kalimantan High Prosecutor's Office.
