Mercedes-Benz Release E-Class Estate: The Latest Combination Of Luxury And Technology

JAKARTA - German auto giant Mercedes-Benz launched their newest unit, E-Class Estate, which offers a luxurious and elegant look with the latest technology.

The E-Class Estate will be sold simultaneously with the E-Class Saloon which was released last April, thus completing the ranks of the E-Class model.

According to an Autocar report, Monday, June 19, the E-Class Estate has a dimension that is 28 mm wider compared to the previous model. The Wheelbase is also 22 mm longer to 2,961 mm.

With a larger width, the E-Class Estate provides a large cargo space, reaching 615 liters. If the back seat is folded neatly, the cargo space can be expanded to 1,830 liters.

Mercedes also provides plug-in hybrid variants with 460 liter baggage rooms that can be increased to 1,675 liters by folding the rear seat. The baggage room is slightly narrower to accommodate batteries.

The manufacturer refreshes its new design at the E-Class Estate by adopting a glossy black-style inspired by Mercedes' pure electric model, EQS.

Not only exterior changes, Mercedes also made an update to the interior of the E-Class Estate. They embed their latest infotainment system, namely MBUX, which is equipped with augmented reality features, voice assistants, and online music streaming.

In this system, there are also various digital applications such as TikTok, Angry Birds, and Zoom games, which can entertain drivers. Mercedes also provides other cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) systems that can learn driver habits and provide assistance.

The level four driverless valet feature is also available as an optional option in German territory, in accordance with local law.

The E-Class Estate will be available with four engine options, both 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder, with both gasoline and diesel options. All variants will be equipped with 48V millid-hybrid electrification technology.

With these various machine options, the E-Class Estate is expected to have a power of around 191 dk to 369 dk, which is supported by an automatic transmission of nine accelerations.

On the inside, a motor starter is also installed that is connected to transmission, providing acceleration, power, and additional torques that increase fuel efficiency and savings.

The plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant is also available with a 24.1 kWh capacity battery, which can provide a range of up to 100 km when operating in pure battery mode.

Just like the Saloon version, the E-Class Estate is produced at a Mercedes factory located in Sindelfingen, Germany. Meanwhile, battery production for the PHEV variant was carried out in Jawor, Poland. The launch and sale of this wagon will begin in spring in Europe.
