The 2024 Election System Remains Proportional Open, PKB: Voters Who Determine The Fate Of Candidates
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Jazilul Fawaid asked his party cadres running in the 2024 Legislative Election (Pileg) to work optimally. Their fate will be determined by voters.
This was conveyed by Jazilul after the Constitutional Court (MK) rejected the lawsuit for changing the electoral system today, Thursday, June 15.
"We urge all PKB cadres, prospective members of the PKB legislature, let's continue to be enthusiastic and show that PKB candidates are able to win the hearts of the people because sovereignty is in the hands of the people," said Jazilul, video caption, Thursday, June 15.
"The voters who will determine whether you deserve to be a member of the legislature or not. The party only presents the best candidates," he continued.
Furthermore, PKB considers the Constitutional Court's decision to be appropriate. Moreover, the closed electoral system is not necessarily able to prevent money politics as mentioned by several parties.
"In fact, money politics occurs in a more dark space and a few more," said Jazilul.
Previously, the Constitutional Court decided that the electoral system in the plenary session remained proportional. The verdict hearing was read out directly by Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman.
"The Court has the authority to try the a quo application.... The petition of the petitioners is not legally justified in its entirety,"
"Rejected the petitioner's provision petition. Rejected the petitioners' petition in its entirety," said Anwar Usman at the trial held Thursday, June 15.
