Until The First Quarter Of 2023, The Ministry Of Industry Records Investment In Capai IKFT Of IDR 33.78 Trillion

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry noted that investment in the chemical, pharmaceutical and textile (IKFT) industry reached IDR 33.78 trillion, until the first quarter of 2023.

"As of the first quarter of 2023, investment in the IKFT sector has reached IDR 33.78 trillion, which is dominated by investment in the chemical industry, and chemicals amounting to IDR 16.29 trillion, then the rubber industry, rubber and plastic goods amounting to IDR 4.50 trillion," said Acting Director General of IKFT of the Ministry of Industry Ignatius Warsito in a press release received by VOI, Thursday, June 15.

Warsito said that the investment performance in the IKFT sector showed an increasing trend. Because, in 2022, the realization reached Rp106.12 trillion, an increase significantly compared to 2021 which was only Rp66.50 trillion.

The total export value of the IKFT sector during the first three months of this year exceeded the figure of more than 11.35 billion US dollars.

In the first quarter of 2023, from the contribution of the IKFT sector, the largest shipment value came from the chemical and chemical goods industry which reached 4.28 billion US dollars, followed by the finished clothing industry (2.03 billion US dollars), the skin and footwear industry (1.94 billion US dollars), the rubber and plastic goods industry (USD1.68 billion), the textile industry (934.72 million US dollars), the non-metallicity material industry (306 million US dollars), as well as the pharmaceutical and traditional medicine industry (175 million US dollars).

With this achievement, the contribution of the IKFT sector to national gross domestic product (GDP) reached 3.88 percent.

From the results of the positive performance of the IKFT sector, Warsito said, it helped form the achievement of the Industrial Trust Index (IKI) into an expansion phase. IKI in May 2023 is still at an expansion level of 50.90.

"Amid the uncertainty of the global economy as it is today, the Ministry of Industry sees the need for monitoring of industrial conditions, which are the main supporting sectors of the national economy," he said.

Therefore, the Ministry of Industry seeks to obtain accurate, complete and up-to-date information on the condition of the manufacturing industry sector in Indonesia, one of which is through the implementation of the IKI survey.

Meanwhile, the Director of Textile, Skin and Footwear Industry of the Ministry of Industry, Adie Rochmanto Pandiangan, said that the textile and textile product (TPT) industry is one of the non-oil and gas processing industry groups categorized as strategic and national priority industries in accordance with the National Industrial Development Master Plan (RIPIN).

"Despite being influenced by the uncertainty of global markets that occur in the United States and Europe. However, the belief in the future of the textile industry is still very high," he added.

For your information, the investment value in the TPT industry has more than doubled, namely Rp3.85 trillion in the first quarter of 2022 to Rp7.8 trillion in the first quarter of 2023.
