The joint SAR team stopped the search for one in five drowning victims while swimming in the waters of the Tanjung Cries Beach area, Ketapang Hamlet, Pringgabaya Village, Pringgabaya District, East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. Head of the Mataram Search and Rescue Office Lalu Wahyu Efendi said that based on the results of coordination with the elements involved and the family, the search operation was stopped after seven days. "The victim who was not found on behalf of Abdul Hakim (25)," Wahyu said, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 9. Over the week, the joint SAR team expanded the search area to the south of the incident by conducting sweeps and dives. However, the victim was not found. "The search was carried out up to the waters of Maluk, West Sumbawa," he said. The incident began when five East Lombok residents traveled to Tanjung Cry on Friday (2/6) afternoon. While swimming, suddenly the victim on behalf of Arya (7) was swept away by the waves. The other four people, Abib Kholik (13), Ziat (13), Abdul Hakim (25), and Gian Heri Apriandi (18), tried to help him. "However, all of them were dragged by the current until sinking, while Arya was rescued. A few moments later Abib Kholik was found dead at the scene," he said.

Then Gian Heri Apriandi was found dead the next day, floating about 500 meters east of the scene. The following day, Ziat was found dead in the waters of Maluk, West Sumbawa. "One survivor, three died, and one person was declared missing," he said. The elements involved in the search operation included the Kayangan SAR Post, TNI, Polri, BPBD, East Lombok SAR Unit, fishermen, firefighters, local residents, and the potential SAR for the East Lombok and Sumbawa regions.
