Coal Briket And Red Sugar Samples From Ternate Exported To Russia

TERNATE - Ternate Class II Agricultural Quarantine Center, North Maluku (Malut) stated that currently the first export of one kilogram of charcoal bricket and nine kilograms of brown sugar was brought to Moscow, Russia, through Sultan Babullah Airport Ternate.

"Karantina menerbitkan Phytosanitary Certificate setelah melakukan pemeriksaan sebagai jaminan kesehatan agar produk ini dapat diterima di negara tujuan akan di ekspor pemilik untuk lapor karantina sebelum terbang," kata Kepala karantina Ternate Tasrif dilansir ANTARA, Sabtu, 20 Mei.

He stated that his party conducted an examination of one kilogram of charcoal Briket and nine kilograms of brown sugar which were conditions for export.

"After we carried out the examination, we issued a Phytosanitary Cerficate as a health guarantee from the country of origin," said Tasrif.

Tasrif said the first export of charcoal briquettes and brown sugar was the first step to show the potential of coconut processed product commodities in order to compete in the international market.

Previously, North Maluku Province made its first export of a potential 22.4 kg brown bullion commodity to go to England via Sultan Baabullah Airport Ternate.

"This first export of chocolate bars has proven that North Maluku agricultural commodities have great potential to compete in the global market and Quarantine is issued by Phytosanitary Certificate after conducting an examination as a health guarantee so that this product can be accepted in the destination country," he said.

This processed chocolate exported is an agricultural commodity from the Sula Islands, North Maluku, exported by PT. Inti Alam Entertainment with the aim of exporting Glasgow, England.

The release of the first export was carried out in the cargo environment of Sultan Babullah Airport Ternate and was attended by leaders of export acceleration supporting agencies, such as agricultural quarantine, customs, Bank Indonesia, KUPP Sultan Baabullah, the Indonesian Employers' Association (APINDO), and GM PT. Garuga Indonesia Ternate Branch.

The chocolate bars exported to the UK consist of various flavor variants, such as chocolate, coffee, media, and walnuts with an export value of IDR 3.6 million, this flavor variant also describes the wealth of North Maluku natural resources.

cocoa beans, which are the raw material for making chocolate bars, are one of the leading commodities of North Maluku. Based on IQFast data from the Ternate Class II Agricultural Quarantine Center, in the period January to April 2023, there were 342,000 kilograms of domestic output of cocoa beans. These cocoa beans are sent to various destinations, such as Surabaya, Jakarta, and Jayapura.
