Polish News Site Attacked By DDoS By Russian Hackers Group
JAKARTA - Several Polish news sites experienced a distributed service attack (DDoS) allegedly carried out by a hacking group from Russia, the Polish Minister of Digitalization said on Thursday, May 19.
Since Russia invaded Ukraine, Warsaw have made itself one of Ukraine's strongest allies. Even Poland says they often face Russia's efforts to destabilize the situation in the country.
The DDoS attack works by directing high volume internet traffic to the intended server in a relatively simple effort to knock it down offline.
"After obtaining information that such an attack is being prepared, we immediately inform all interested editorial offices that they have the opportunity to react to this situation," Janusz Cieszynski was quoted as saying by state news agency PAP.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has not yet responded to a request for comment sent via an email by the Reutersolkeh.
According to PAP, the affected websites include daily Gazeta Wyborcza, Rzeczpospolita, and Super Express newspapers.
Wyborcza confirmed via Twitter that they were victims of attacks, as well as the news website wPolityce.pl.
