Jokowi Scheduled To Open West Sumatra XVI Farmers' Penas Followed By 12 Professions Related To Farmers And Fishermen
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to open the XVI Indonesian National Farmers and Fishermen Week (Penas Tani) in West Sumatra (West Sumatra) which will be attended by thousands of farmers from all over Indonesia and representatives of ASEAN countries.
"Until now, the national agenda is planned to be opened by President Joko Widodo," said West Sumatra Regional Secretary (Sekda) Hansastri, in Padang, West Sumatra, Monday, May 15, as reported by Antara.
The presence of the President, according to him, will make the XVI Farmers' Penas agenda more attention from all provinces, so preparations must be made as much as possible.
"This is also a momentum for West Sumatra to promote regional potential not only in agriculture and livestock, but also tourism," he said.
He said a number of activities would enliven the West Sumatra XVI Farmers Penas, including talks with the President and state officials, middle rembugs, and main rembugs, and then professional meetings.
"There are 12 professions related to farmers and fishermen who will hold a meeting on the agenda from 10-15 June 2023," he said again.
In addition, the meeting of ASEAN farmers and ASEAN partners, the success meeting of farmers and extension workers, exhibitions for agricultural, fishery and forestry development.

The XVI Farmers Penas will also be enlivened by agribusiness technology meetings, work meetings, business entrepreneurs, farmers and fishermen as well as agile demonstrations and skilled principles.
"At the end of the event, participants will also take part in comparative and widyatourism studies," he also said.
He hopes that with maximum preparation, the implementation of the XVI Farmers Penas in West Sumatra can be more successful than in previous years.
