JAKARTA - Secretary General (Secretary General) of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto said 48 percent of the 580 candidates for legislative members of the DPR from PDIP are young cadres or under 45 years old.
"Given that the party is also carrying out regeneration systematically, from young people under the age of 45 there are around 48 percent. So, under the age of 45 there are 48 percent, as a commitment for the PDI-P," Hasto told reporters in the Main Session Room, KPU Office, Jakarta, Thursday, May 11, which was confiscated by Antara.
According to Hasto, the young cadre of the white-nosed bull party is still undergoing a tiered regeneration process in order to understand the function of the people's representative council before they are registered as candidates for the DPR RI.
"The task as a member of the council is prepared to understand the function of legislation, budget, supervision, representation function; so that not only young people are nominated, but those who have been prepared," said Hasto.

He continued, PDIP, which has a concentration in the defense sector, also includes several figures with military backgrounds and figures from the police as candidates for the DPR.
Apart from the TNI and Polri side, PDIP includes the names of agricultural experts, the environment, doctors, health experts, and legal experts as candidates for the DPR for the 2024 General Election.
Hasto even mentioned that there was a geological expert as a candidate for the DPR from PDIP, namely Surono or known as Mbah Rono. The inclusion of Mbah Rono's name was because PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri was very concerned about the issue of disaster prevention.
"From academics, several experts, agricultural experts, the environment, and some from engineers, doctors, health experts, then technology control reform, joined the PDI-P; there are also diplomats, from defense experts, legal experts. There is Mbah Rono who is known as a geologist because Megawati is paying serious attention to disaster mitigation," said Hasto.
