Bangka Regency Lacks 872 Teachers At Elementary And Middle School Levels
BANGKA - Bangka Regency in Bangka Belitung Islands Province lacks 872 teachers at the kindergarten (TK) to junior high school (SMP) levels.Head of the Bangka Regency Education, Youth and Sports Office Rozali said the local government proposed the recruitment of government employee teachers with a work agreement (PPPK) to meet the needs of kindergarten, elementary school (SD), and junior high school teachers.According to him, the Bangka Regency Education, Youth and Sports Office proposed to the central government to recruit 771 PPPK teachers after 235 people were declared to have passed the 2022 teacher PPPK selection."In addition to the proposed recruitment of hundreds of PPPK teachers, it is also proposed to accept dozens of civil servant status teachers in the hope that the teacher's needs can be met," he said in Sungailiat, quoted from Antara, Friday, May 5.In Bangka Regency, according to local government data, there are 1,107 teachers with civil servants in elementary schools and 470 teachers with civil servants in junior high schools. In addition, there are 104 teachers who have the status of PPPK.Meanwhile, the number of non-permanent teachers (GTT) and non-permanent employees (PTT) in Bangka Regency was recorded at 320 people at the first high school level and as many as 831 people at the elementary school level. At the kindergarten level, there were 31 GTT and 81 PTT.
Rozali said that the shortage of teachers at the kindergarten to junior high school levels was partly due to many retired teachers.
