4 People Died Drowning While Traveling Lebaran In West Pasaman, West West West Sumatra
SIMPANG FOUR - Four people were reported to have died from drowning while traveling in Lubuak Cempong bathing area, IV Koto Kinali, West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra, Saturday, at around 11.00 WIB.
"Temporary information, the victim went on tour by bathing during Lebaran," said Basarnas Coordinator Pasaman Dhio Ulwi Finanda as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, April 22.
The victim who died was identified as Zian, a 11-year-old male, Rehan a 17-year-old male, Ataya a 18-year-old woman, and Remita a 49-year-old woman.
"The four victims had their addresses at the East Jambak Line 10. One person on behalf of Ali Akbar (54) survived," said Dhio.
Based on the information obtained, the victim went to play with water at the tourist attraction. While playing, initially the victim Zian drowned. Then, seeing that someone drowned, Rehan's victim tried to help Zian, but to no avail.
In addition, Ataya's victim also tried to help, but drowned. Likewise with the fourth victim, Remita, also drowned because she tried to help the previous victim.
"Seeing that four people drowned, Ali Akbar came to help. However, he almost drowned due to running out of energy. Finally, Ali Akbar was rescued by Hasbullah and Adiwarman. The victim is currently being rushed to Puskesmas IV Koto Kinali before being brought by their respective families," said Dhio.

He appealed to the public to remain alert to disasters and accidents during the Eid holidays. According to him, the potential areas that are prone to disasters or accidents are beach attractions and ship crossing areas to islands, such as in Air Bangis to Pulau Panjang or Pigago Island.
Dhio also asked the public to pay attention to family members or children who play on the beach or river, as well as use floating tools if they are going to swim on the beach.
