JAKARTA Spam in the form of text messages has existed several years ago. Messages that can contain this malware or phishing can be found in various Google services, one of which is Drive.

Google realizes that its platform is an easy target for spam spreaders. Even though they have created tools to reduce the number of spam in Gmail, they haven't been able to solve the problem in Google Drive.

Over the past few days, the surge in scammers has increased and worried Google Drive users. Quoted from Android Police, many users claim to accept requests to approve files sent to Google Drive.

After complaints from users increased, the Google Drive team released a statement in the Google Drive Assistance Community some time ago. Represented by Shriti Ghosh, the Google Drive team asked users to tag files as spam.

"Google Drive is aware of a recent wave of spam attacks where users receive requests to approve suspicious files. With all the files you suspect may be Spam, please follow the instructions outlined in tagging or deleting spam signatures," wrote Ghosh.

Although some spams can be dangerous, Ghosh asked users not to worry about the spam. Ghosh said that files can still be opened because there are no risks to it.

In fact, Ghosh advised users to open the file and report its files as abuse. Later, Google will block users who send the file.

One thing that Ghosh warned against is the ban on opening links. Files can be opened, but users are not allowed to click on any links from inside the document or even agree.

If the link in the document is clicked, users can get a malware or phishing attack. Therefore, the Google Drive team asks users to be careful in receiving and approving any link.
