JAKARTA Google updated the interface (UI) of digital Gboard or keyboard applications. This voice-based typing tool update is only added to Pixel Tablet devices.

Previously, when users wanted to use voice-based typing assistants, the keyboard was still displayed on the screen. However, the typing screen will look more minimal because the keyboard is taking up a lot of space.

Therefore, Google launched a toolbar button next to the Asistan Suara icon. When the keyboard is clicked, the keyboard will disappear automatically and be replaced with a medium column that gives a sign that the Voice Assistant is working.

When the keyboard is hidden, the screen will become wider. This will be very useful because some users may be annoyed with the keyboards that still appear while they are using the Voice Assistant.

Users can still add emojis to the typing when the keyboard is hidden. The reason is, the medium column under the typing screen has a special icon to add emoji to.

When clicked, the emoji keyboard will be displayed, then the keyboard will disappear again after. Users can also access Settings by clicking the horizontal three-line icon next to the emoji icon.

So far, Google has just added the update to the 13.7 beta version of the Gboard. It's not yet known when this version will be released to the regular app, but the update is only compatible on Android 14 QPR1 devices.
