Here's How To Force Close Applications On MacBook

JAKARTA – Some MacBook users may have experienced the problem of applications that won't stop. This problem is actually common and there are several ways to solve it.

If the application you have opened does not stop operating even after waiting for a long time, you can force it to close. Here are three ways to forcefully eject MacBook apps, quoting from Makeuseof.

Force-Close Applications Via Dock

The first thing you can do is turn off the application via the Mac Dock. You need to click Control and the application icon at the same time to bring up several options.

Usually, you will only see the Quit menu at the bottom of the options. However, try to press the Option key on your keyboard. When the button is pressed, the Quit menu will change to Force Quit.

Close Apps Via Apple Menu

No need to worry if closing applications via Dock doesn't work. You can still force shut down inoperable apps via the Apple menu. This menu is in the top left corner of the screen.

When you click on the Apple logo, you'll see a variety of options about your Mac and apps. Just below the Recent Items menu, you will see the Force Quit menu. Once clicked, the application should immediately close automatically.

Force Close with Keyboard Assistance

The final method that you can apply is to use keyboard shortcuts. This shortcut can be accessed by pressing the Command (Cmd), Option, and Escape (Esc) keys simultaneously.

After all three buttons are pressed, you will see the Force Close Application display and a row of applications that are still operating. Select the app you want to stop and tap the Force Close option.
