Spotify Launches Audiobook Feature In The United States

JAKARTA Starting Wednesday, November 8, the audiiobookSpotify feature can be listened to by users in the United States. This feature can be accessed specifically for users who subscribe to Premium.

Spotify says that all their Premium packages, from Individuals to Families, can listen toaudiobooks for 15 hours per month. This means that the use of audiobooks is still limited even though it has subscribed to Premium.

Starting today, you'll see an audiobook marked as Included in a Premium that you can play right away. Fifteen hours should give you about two audiobooks on average per month," Spotify wrote in their release.

If users have reached the time limit for listening toaudiobooks, they will have to buy a laptop with a time of 10 hours. Unfortunately, Spotify did not explain the additional cost of purchasing this refill.

Different from the United Kingdom and Australia, which have already obtained this feature, users in the United States get a richer catalog. The reason is, the audiobooks they present reach 200,000 of various genres.

Spotify claims to have surveyed more than 1,000 people in America who like to listen toaudiobooks. The majority of them are Generation Z and Millennials, the marketplace of Spotify itself.

With the presence of aaudiobooks in America, Spotify believes that they can provide new comfort for loyal listeners, especially those who like to listen to fictional stories through audio.

"We believe that offering music, personalized codcasts, as well as the best audiobook on one platform, gives you the best way to enjoy more than 100 million songs, 5 million podcasts, and 200,000 audiobooks in one place," Spotify explained.

So far, audiobookSpotify has only been present in three regions. It is not yet known when they will expand this feature to Asia and its surroundings.
