JAKARTA - OpenAI, an artificial intelligence (AI) developer, has quietly updated training data sets for its most advanced model, GPT-4 Turbo, to be relevant from December 2023, according to documentation on its website.

Turbo's latest update, which was not widely announced by the developer, means it is now equipped with relevant data until December 2023, making it the most up-to-date model offered by OpenAI. Compared to its free model, GPT 3.5, is only equipped with relevant data until January 2022.

According to the site, the update is implemented with the aim of reducing what developers call "laziness" in a model, where it does not complete the task it asks for.

In its DevDay in November, OpenAI revealed a new developer model and product, which states that the GPT-4 Turbo will be familiar with the latest events until April 2023. Therefore, the latest update will be a model with eight months of data and additional information.

In its latest update on January 25, no one mentioned a training data set update for the GPT-4 Turbo.

Although site information shows updated data until December 2023, OpenAI development forums are starting to get busy with questions about legitimacy.

Some users observed that their preview did not appear to be updated until December 2023; instead, they got answers like "as of April 2023...", which was the previous update time.

However, responses from other users have revealed positive results, with the model providing information that their data has been updated from December 2023.

The latest update to OpenAI's most advanced model comes just days after revealing its advanced text-to-video model, Sora, which makes users on social media amazed by its realistic output.

OpenAI claims that Sora can produce film-like scenes containing several specific characters, movements and subjects, as well as background details in resolutions of up to 1080p. However, developers say that the model is still not ready to be released publicly.

On February 17, a report in The New York Times stated that OpenAI's valuation had jumped to 80 billion US dollars (IDR 1,251.6 trillion) in its latest deal. Currently, the company is in talks with investors around the world, as well as the international government, to raise funds to develop artificial intelligence chips internally.
