Implementing High Discipline In The U-16 Indonesian National Team, Nova Arianto Tak Segan Strikes Out Naughty Players

JAKARTA - Tmnas Indonesia U-16 coach, Nova Arianto, applies high discipline to 32 players who are undergoing a selection period. Unmitigated, he will immediately send home players who cannot follow the rules in the team.

This was conveyed by Nova Arianto while leading the U-16 Indonesian national team for the second wave of training camp in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Reflecting on the selection session for the first wave, Nova was serious in building the discipline of his players.

"I also emphasize to them (selection players) about discipline because there were players who were late for lunch," said Nova.

The disciplinary aspect is Nova Arianto's main concern. According to him, if young players cannot be disciplined in their lifestyle and training, it will affect their game in the future.

One of the strict rules that Nova made during the selection period for the U-16 Indonesian national team was on time when eating and training. He also requires players to collect cell phones every 21.30 WIB.

"It (train training training training) is not good. If at a young age it is not disciplined, (in the future) it will be difficult. So, I make sure that if he does it again, we can send him home," said the coach.

In the second batch of selection, Nova Arianto hopes that the 32 players who are called can show their best quality during the three days of selection. Regarding who passed the selection, it will only be announced after the third wave is complete.

"I hope there can be more choices of players in the second wave. Of course with the criteria I previously intended, namely height posture, abilities, and so on," said Nova.

"I will calculate it first from all waves because we still see all the players from wave one to three. Later, after the third wave is over, then we can get the players," said the coach.
