After Xabi Alonso, Ruben Amorim Appears As A Candidate To Replace Jurgen Klopp In Liverpool

JAKARTA Sporting Lisbon head coach Ruben Amoritism is said to be the latest name to appear on Jurgen Klopp's list of replacements at Liverpool.

The end of the 2023-2024 season will mark the end of the golden era for Liverpool and Klopp, who have resigned from office after nearly nine years in charge of The Anfield Gank.

Now, Portuguese media CM Jornal as reported by Sportsmole, Ruben Amorim's name has emerged as one of the candidates for the Reds coach next season. Amorim is said to have attracted the attention of Liverpool's directors because of his outstanding performance with Sporting Lisbon.

The 39-year-old coach began to steal the show after bringing Braga to the 2019-2020 Taca da Liga season with Braga. Leaving for Sporting, Amoram's cold hands were again proven by leading Sporting Lisbon to the Portuguese Primeira League doubles title and Taca de Portugal in the 2020-2021 season.

This season, Sporting has collected 49 points from 19 matches in the Portuguese Primeira League to sit at the top of the table with one point ahead of Benfica and they will face Young Boys in the knockout round of the Europa League.

The Amorism Contract with Sporting is still in effect for another two and a half years, but the report adds that there is a release clause in its deal, allowing him to join Premier League clubs at a cost of 20 million euros or around Rp340 billion.

The magnitude of Ruben Amorium's release clause is claimed to be Liverpool's consideration before bringing him to Anfield. This is because the Reds are believed to continue to make Xabi Alonso a top priority to replace Jurgen Klopp.
