Indonesian men's singles badminton player, Yohanes Saut Marcellyno, won the 2023 Guwahati Masters title after defeating his compatriot, Alvi Wijaya Chairullah, in the final of fellow Indonesia. Saut won the match with a score of two straight games, 21-12, 21-17 on Sunday, December 10.

In the All Indonesian Final match which lasted 41 minutes, Saut started the match badly and trailed 1-3 from Alvi. However, he managed to turn things around with eight points in a row, securing a 9-3 lead, and winning the first game with a score of 21-12.

In the second game, Alvi showed improvement in his game, but Saut appeared more solid and provided a solid defense. Saut managed to maintain the lead from the start until the end of the second game, winning the game with a score of 21-17.

With this victory, Yohanes Saut Marcellyno won the 2023 Guwahati Masters title in the men's singles category. Although Indonesia had to settle for one title and one runner-up from the men's singles number, Saut's achievements contributed positively to Indonesian badminton.
