JAKARTA - Launched in 1984 and still produced today, the Toyota Land Cruiser Series 70 is an off-road vehicle that has reached its legendary status. From the Sahara Desert to the interior of Australia, this car can pass freely on some of the meanest terrains on earth.

Toyota recently launched a facelift version of the 2024 edition of the Land Cruiser 70 specifically for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) market. The model presented is the Series 70 variant with shorter wheelbase.

Reporting fromDrive, Tuesday, November 28, the retro-style SUV with three doors has a wheelbase of 2,310 mm or 420 mm smaller than the five-door version. This car is presented with four color choices: metallic ash, cream, metallic silver, and white.

Despite its old-age style, this car has worn advanced LED headlights with additional fog lights. Also presented is a black overfender which is the hallmark of an SUV with 16-inch rims.

Moving to the interior, the car was reshuffled with a 9-inch LCD screen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity systems. The Land Cruiser 70 gets a synthetic leather seat that covers five seats.

Just like several other Toyota models, the SUV is also equipped with several safety sensor devices, including Pre-Collition Detection System, Lane Departure Alert, and Adaptive High-Beam.

Land Cruiser 70, which is marketed in the UAE region, uses a strong 4.0 liter V6 engine, capable of producing 170 kW of power and 360 Nm of torque. The heart is coupled to an automatic transmission system of six accelerations.

Talking about the price, this car is priced at 169,900 dirhams or equivalent to Rp712 million.
