JAKARTA - Deva Mahenra is back in a feature film with the title The Story of the Land of Java: Pocong Gundul. He plays Om Hao who is the original writer of the book The Story of the Land of Java.

Having a background story in the city of Yogyakarta, Deva had to learn to speak Javanese like a real Javanese. Fortunately Deva was accompanied by an acting coach who helped him a lot face this challenge.

"Learning Javanese, we have the acting coach who happens to be a native of Jogja and we speak the language of Jogja," said Deva Mahenra in Kuningan, South Jakarta, Wednesday, September 13.

"So it is very helpful when there is a scenario adaptation, there are changes in the words a little we can immediately ask for coach acting," he continued.

Mikha Tambayong's husband admits learning language is not difficult for him. This is because language is one of Deva's interests in acting.

"So learning is not too difficult and language is one of my interests from the start and I don't think it's a accent problem, this isn't something that matters," he said.

It only takes 2 to 3 weeks to really learn the language and follow the Javanese accent. "(It takes about) 2, 3 weeks," he added.
